4 Ways To Overcome Employee Grumbles When Implementing EHS Software

The key to getting the highest value returns from software is managing high volume of transactions that result from communicating with your workers and collecting their observations. This will allow you to get at that elusive leading indicator data that results in predictive analytics. Your employees have good ideas and a wealth of experience – they will share it with you if you encourage them to do so.
Despite the many benefits, some people fear software program implementations, and there was a time when that was with good cause. Luckily, however, times change. There are many software products for which the biggest implementation hurdles have less to do with technical challenges than they do with convincing employees to engage. We’ve spent years implementing enterprise-level software across numerous industries and here are some actions that we have found to help ensure successful projects:

Finding Champions Early

When you are planning actual implementation activities, choose a core group of champions, or super-users. These are employees, ideally at the management-level, who are enthusiastic about the project and are willing to help their co-workers master the product. Champions are not always senior people – you want enthusiasm and a desire to help others. When you are planning actual implementation activities, choose a core group of champions, or super-users. Emphasize the benefits

It is critical to emphasize the benefits of the project well before you begin implementing it and to reiterate again during training. Explain to all employees what you are doing and why. Highlight the benefits to both employees and the company focusing on how this will improve their daily life.

Reinforce the Value

When the system goes live remind everyone of how the company has made an investment to ensure the health and well-being of all employees. Some organizations run pretty extensive internal PR campaigns around the value of adoption.

Maintain Consistent Feedback

I cannot stress enough the value of providing feedback to employees who submit reports. Showing them that their submissions are listened to by following through and acting on their suggestions is the most effective way to ensure further engagement.
