Electronic Recordkeeping

Transitions in Safety

Digital work processes are becoming a reality across almost every industry vertical. According to the 2016 SCDigest Supply Chain Digitization Benchmark Survey, 80% of companies are aggressively pursuing strategies and technologies for the digitization of the business; Of those, 43% consider it a major initiative. Those that are not prepared to harness these technological advancements are likely to be left behind — and eventually go out of business.

Take a look around, processes that were done with paper and pen less than five years ago are now being digitized. Archaic systems that originally required hundreds of man hours can now be accomplished using advanced algorithms. These advancements are freeing up employees’ time to focus on more important issues while reducing risks. In the next decade we can expect to see a complete change in workplace safety with the improvement of various new tools:

  • Exoskeletons to reduce strain on employees.
  • Robotic and automated systems taking on the riskier jobs.
  • Analytic systems increasing insight into how to better improve conditions.
  • Real-time information gathering and sharing.
  • More accurate data collection and monitoring.
  • Electronic record-keeping.

And these are just a few things you can expect to see. It can be difficult to stay up to date with all of the latest and greatest, that is why Sospes is hosting a webinar on September 28th to talk about the transitions in safety.
