If You Broke Your Back At Work …

There are so many safety incidents that can lead to a worker breaking their back:

  • Falling from heights.
  • Incorrect lifting techniques.
  • Vehicle accidents.
  • Overexertion and repetitive motion

I can’t imagine how frightened I’d be if I broke my back in a work-related incident. Thankfully, I’ve never experienced any kind of back injury that completely affected my quality of life. But I know a man who did—Randy Royall.

Years ago, Randy fell from a great height, broke his back, and was paralyzed from the waist down for 9 months. He’s now recovered, and he has an amazing story to tell about what he learned along the way. Be sure to check out my chat with Randy in an episode of “Safety Storytellers Podcast” below.

Remember, preventing back injuries requires a collective effort from employers and employees to ensure the well-being of workers in every industry.
